Company History

Tim P. Taylor founded Taylor Trim & Supply, Inc. in 1990. Tim has worked in the building industry for 40 years, 38 of which have been specifically in finish carpentry. Tim currently serves as the CEO. He is actively involved in the California Professional Association of Specialty Contractors (CALPASC), and the San Diego Building Industry Association (BIA). In his spare time, Tim enjoys wood turning in his workshop and he loves spending time with his ten grandkids.

Marlene Taylor, president and co-owner of Taylor Trim & Supply, is a 30-year veteran of the building industry and a passionate advocate of workforce development and local youth mentorship programs.  Before joining Taylor Trim & Supply, Marlene worked for several years with The Fieldstone Company, a large San Diego homebuilder. She joined Taylor Trim & Supply as a board member and corporate secretary at the company’s inception in 1990, transitioning into the role of company president and partner in 1994.

Marlene serves on the board of several local small businesses and nonprofit organizations, including Offbeat Brewing Company, San Pasqual Academy Employer Advisory Committee and Able Disabled Advocacy Board. She is the chairperson of the San Diego Workforce Development Board, which funds job training programs that empower job seekers to meet the needs of employers throughout the county. A committed proponent of working with foster youth, Marlene has served as a personal mentor for nearly a decade, and provides professional coaching, opportunities, and internships to local high school and college-age students.

Marlene lives in rural Escondido with her husband, Tim. She enjoys camping, quad riding, quilting, and spending time with the couple’s four children and ten grandchildren.
